Hello, I’m Alex Alonso
As a Tampa native, my story is deeply tied to the local business community. After owning and operating a small business in Tampa, I developed a strong appreciation for the ambition, resilience, and complexity behind every owner-led company. That experience became the foundation for my work today.
What initially began as an interest in traditional small business finance evolved into something much deeper: a passion for helping business owners understand how their personal financial decisions shape the trajectory of their business. I became increasingly drawn to the intersection of personal wealth, capital management, business growth, and long-term planning and to the reality that for many owners, the business and personal balance sheet are deeply connected.
I attended Academy of the Holy Names and Plant High School before continuing to Queens University of Charlotte, where I played collegiate lacrosse, studied finance, and earned my MBA. My career later took me to New York City, where I broadened my perspective on wealth management and strategic financial planning.
Today, I’ve built Alonso Financial Planning to serve business owners who want more than generic advice. I provide thoughtful, academically grounded, concierge-level planning designed around the realities of entrepreneurship, helping clients align their personal finances to support and amplify the growth of the business they are building.
